Jason Allen, a Partner in Foley's Finance & Financial Institutions Practice, Explains Why He Is In With Foley

Jason Allen is a Partner in Foley's Finance & Financial Institutions and Private Equity & Venture Capital Practices as well as the Energy Industry Team. In this short piece, Jason describes the qualities that drew him to get in with Foley - national resources, teamwork, and mentoring - and how they have helped him succeed.

General Commercial Litigation Associate Will Yoon Sees Foley as a Home for His Career

Will Yoon is an Associate in Foley's General Commercial Litigation Practice. In this piece, Will -- who works out of the firm's San Diego office -- describes why he is thrilled with his decision to get in with Foley.

For Washington, D.C. Partner Andy Rawlins, the key to success at Foley is involvement

Andy, who serves as chair of the Medical Devices Team and vice-chair of the Mechanical & Electromechanical Technologies Practice, joined the firm as a lateral hire after a Foley partner, who also is a friend, described the various opportunities of being in a general practice firm, including the ability to extend into areas outside of IP and interact with attorneys in other practice areas. Andy has taken full advantage of those opportunities to involve himself at the firm as a team leader, mentor, teacher, and advocate.

As a participant in Foley's mentor program, Erick Harris sees himself invested in the future of Foley

For Erick Harris, joining Foley was somewhat of a homecoming. A Madison native and 2002 graduate of Harvard Law School, Erick joined Foley’s Madison office in 2006, after spending the previous four years at a law firm in Chicago. Today, as a member of Foley’s Real Estate Practice, he is maximizing his opportunities with the firm.

As a practice chair, Michele Simkin is influencing the direction of Foley and the biotechnology industry

Michele Simkin originally moved to Washington, D.C. in 1988 to work for the United States Patent and Trademark Office. After receiving encouragement from several Foley attorneys, she decided to join the firm’s nationally recognized Intellectual Property Department and Biotechnology & Pharmaceutical Practice as a lateral hire.

For John Turlais, being involved with Foley's summer program influenced his decision to join the firm

Foley’s summer program provided exactly the type of experience that I had hoped for as a summer associate. The electronic project book allowed me to select interesting and challenging assignments from various legal departments and gave me the opportunity to work with a wide range of attorneys and clients.

And, between FoleyFest, group outings, the softball team, and other planned (and unplanned) events, there certainly was no shortage of opportunities for me to get to know better the other summer associates, the attorneys, and the city.
